About Abeba Lipordo
Abeba Lipordo is a Congolese (DRC) music composer and singer. He initially wrote songs for Papa Wemba‘s Viva La Musica band. Abeba was part of a subset of Viva, the Cours Des Grands (Grown-up’s playground) around 1993 to 2006. During that period, Abeba worked alongside Felix Wazekwa and Dessy Mbwesse who also became solo musicians later. Just like Reddy Amisi, Stino Mubi and many others from Viva La Musica, Abeba released a couple of his own albums, initially with Viva La Musica support. He also had the blessing of Papa Wemba, former leader of the band. In fact, Papa Wemba usually promoted such emancipations.
